Isn’t this is a cool looking gift box? It’s so easy to make. I don’t know about you, but in my house I’m always scrambling for wrapping paper, especially since I have this thing against buying store bought wrapping paper. I’m constantly throwing or recycling papers so my idea would be to use paper I have. Now this was really easy when the kids were bringing home nursery school paintings every week. But now that my oldest son is fourteen and my youngest who’s in kinder is into three-dimensional projects, I’ve lost my supply of cute kid paintings to recycle.
Then I had idea. When not use the boxes in the recycle bin and paint them as gift boxes so no wrapping paper would be needed?
So, eureka, the idea for five minutes gift boxes was born. Three easy steps. Five minutes. I promise.
Step #1 Fish out a carton from your recycle bin. I thought the pot pie box would do the trick.
Step #2 Squirt out your paint (I like acrylic and I love use something from my recycle bin to mix the paint. An egg carton works great).
Step #3 Paint your box. Let it dry and admire. Then put it your gift box pile to use next time you to need to wrap up a gift!
